Keeping your new toy clean is essential, for helping your plaything stay fresh and preserving its longevity. Here's what we recommend for our toys:
- Clean with warm soapy water
Simple maintenance; after a toy session, let your toys soak in soapy water, then give them a scrub with your hands. You can air-dry them on towels, then we recommend keeping them in the storage bags they came with. Hand soap will work just fine for cleaning - unscented if you prefer!
-Boiling your toys
Sharing toys, or passing one off to someone else? 3-5 minutes in boiling water will help sanitise a toy completely!
We’ve heard you can take this a step further by adding baking powder to the water - this can clean up any light surface stains and reduce any lasting smells your toys might have.
-Dishwasher!
Yeah, it sounded funny to us, too! It does work, though - the temperatures and movement of water in a dishwasher on a sanitise/high-temp setting are actually ideal for platinum silicone toys. Put them on the top rack and give them a cycle (in plain water, no dish tablets), and they’ll come out looking brand new.
-Toy cleaner Sprays
Whilst we've found boiling toys and warm soapy water to be an ideal cleaner, some people like to use toy cleaning sprays, available in most sex shops. Sprays built for silicone won’t harm your toy, and a spray down/rinse/wipe will be just fine. Just avoid buying a spray with silicone in it!
